How long did you go without a housekeeping at a Wyndham resort?

We were at Bonnet Creek for 16 days in a presidential 1 bedroom, and no housekeeping at all. They told us at check-in there would be no mid-week tidy and that has been gone for a long time, but I fully expected a full clean after a week or 8 days of our stay. Nothing, but we could get more towels and a set of sheets to change our own bedding. I washed our towels myself, since we had a giant washer and dryer, which I liked.

No one does service like Wyndham.

The faucet didn't have a stop on it for the bathtub. I do my physical therapy with a hot bath, keeps my arm from hurting as much. I would turn that faucet around and around. I did find a place where the water stopped coming out. Told maintenance about it, and they supposedly fixed it. Didn't get fixed. Still kept going around in circles.

Last I checked, if you book an extended stay as a single reservation, there is no housekeeping during the stay. That makes sense--I am only spending one HK token, and that covers the clean after I check out.

If you booked it as two, and spent two HK tokens, then that is not okay.

Edited to add: this is generic to Wyndham, not specific to Bonnet Creek.

I have unlimited housekeeping. But I think that's too long to go between housekeepings. There was no vacuum.

I do not believe this is normal. They are supposed to clean after a week. I would call and ask the front desk and politely insist and ask to speak to a manager and supervisor if the first agent can not get it done.

We did that. They said they don't do housekeeping for longer stays. Don't know when they would actually do another housekeeping. Maybe after 3 weeks???

I agree with Brian that there should be a cleaning at some point if there's a second reservation and second housekeeping credit. (Wyndham tracks them for unlimited VIPs for a reason, right?) And if you're staying 16 nights, then by definition there's a second reservation and housekeeping credit spent, so it seems they would owe you a cleaning.

Sixteen nights would require at least two reservations. I've tried to extend fourteen night reservations on-line and it won't do it.

I booked 2 separate stays but had the resort combine them into one 16-night stay to avoid getting moved mid-way through.

The lack of service was surprising but we did get additional laundry and dish soap.

On our last stay my son dropped an entire jar of peach salsa day 1 in the kitchen- it was a nightmare trying to get a mop at Bonnet Creek. They were adamant that they do not give those out to guests, which IMO is nuts I am sure we were not the first to spill something. It took 2 trips back and forth to desk to actually get someone to bring one over. There was no way I was spending a week with a sticky floor.

This has been wildly inconsistent across the system since COVID started. First they completely stopped it, then it seemingly came back. Then only certain resorts were offering it, now none of them are offering it.

It used to be that everyone, even non-vip's got some sort of service if you were staying for more than a week, but isn't this specifically a coded VIP benefit for certain VIP levels? Is this still in the Member guide anywhere?

I think the last time I got offered any sort of service was at Governors Green last July when I stayed 8 days.

We are VIP Founders. We didn't get housekeeping on a 16-day stay. They offered to send up some sheets and towels. I washed our towels in the washer/dryer. We were in a presidential unit, so no big deal because the washer/dryers are full-sized.

I just don't think it's good for the cleanliness of the place.

By the way, our room smelled funny, like Indian food, the entire time. Once we were in the unit for a little while, we didn't smell it anymore, but it was a funky smell to have for 16 days. It never went away, maybe it lessened a bit.

I never had that happen at any Marriott/ Westin/ Hilton. Pretty disgusting.

Our internet was terrible in that room as well. We had to use cell phone data.

I had an issue with a smell in a room at Bonnet Creek once that was so bad we had to move, but we thought it was that the people before us smoked like a chimney and it just got into everything.

We've never stayed more than 14 days at a time, so I've not ever dealt with this issue - but we've never had a problem requesting more supplies whenever needed. The last 14 day stay was at TOTG in North Myrtle Beach and that resort had already converted over to the larger bathroom pump shampoo/conditioner/bodywash pumps - and we had to request refills twice - no issues - along with more dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, etc., again, no issues. I never thought to request a cleaning, but given it was all from one reservation, from the info in this thread - it doesn't seem like we'd be entitled to one since only a single HKC was decremented for our reservation.

When I've looked over the budgets where we own I could see the line items on both the income and expense sides for housekeeping fees. Here's my understanding of how that works on the resort level.

Housekeeping fees are still based are on the weeks/7 night system. When we have stays of less than 7 nights that requires an additional cleaning in that 7 night week and the resorts are reimbursed by Wyndham for that.

So when we have stays of say 8-14 nights, even if it's booked in one reservation, that would be two housekeeping fees. The way I interpret this is that the owner isn't getting the service the resort is charging for or being reimbursed for. Also that owners maintenance fees are paying for.

what is max amount of nights on one reservation? We typically book 10-nights, and this is the first I've heard about a limit of nights?
