We are going in the next few weeks and are wondering how loud the noise is from the new building construction. We will be at the Kalia for part of the time, right next door to it. I also notice that nothing at all on the HiltonHawaiianVillage.com site mentions construction.

That is still pretty far away from you, maybe 100 yards and the noise happens during the day. Most people are out at the beach or not in their unit to and never notice. If you are worried, like you want to sleep late, call the resort about one week prior and request a room that faces away from it. But, you might be looking to the west and that is warmer on the Lanai during the afternoon.
