I am in the beginning process of closeing on a 2 bdrm MGC in Las Vegas.

For now let me just say that the seller has accepted an offer thousands of dollars below the average MGC going for on e-bay. I have been assured by the broker that Marriott has stopped its ROFR policies on MGC due to these hard economic times.
In fact I have noticed that MGC owners have been haveing a hard time recovering MF cost when renting out their units.

The good news:) is that when I do go to Las Vegas I like to stay on the strip rather than waiting for those two to five miles shuttle trips to and from the strip offered by my Worldmark membership.

But the real reason for this thread is I would like to asked Marriott owners how hard is it to trade Marriott for Five Star locations such as the Four Season in San Diego?

Thanks,

Rock

I have 1-51

It would have been several thousand more to obtain a 1-52 season. I hope that your not trying to tell me that I have lost all my tradeing power.

I my-self have been to Vegas during the Christmass New Years period and have no desire to return during that time cause I found it to be too cold.

Grand Chateau is all platinum or plat plus units, but there are weeks that are better than others.

I have heard people getting Four Seasons Aviara (I believe the top rated timeshare on tug) with various Marriotts, so as long as you get a good trading week, I imagine you should be able to get it as long as your timeframes are very flexible.

You will probably be allright as long as you are flexible with your dates. I do not think a specific "high demand" week (or two) can be obtained. A range of 8-12 weeks is more likely. IMO

Does the Four Seasons Aviara trade through II or do you have to go to a third party site like redweeks?

Four Seasons trades with II. I see it come up with my Shadow Ridge unit but I always reserve the highest in demand week when I want to trade. I was just seeing some Four Seasons's unit this month. My AC's never pull up the Four Seasons.

What is a good WEEK to RESERVE at GMC for a trade?

On our survey for the top pick of the week to trade would be Xmass thru New Years.

What other weeks(excuse the pun) would be a hot week to reserve in Vegas for a trade?

Usually with Worldmark the highly desired places to travel to .....Disney or Four Season or harder to find than a goony bird or a wild unicorn. I've always had to asked II or RCI to put me on their waiting list for up to two years for a chance to stay at those cool (HOT) places.

Oh Well,
