Can someone tell me how to transfer a ScreenShot from the Clipboard?

I'm using me Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet with the Android operating system (not sure what version).

I can see the image on the clipboard but haven't figured out how to move the image into a document.

Thanks

Richard

You should be able to just paste it in.

Unless of course you are trying to paste it into a reply in this forum and it won't let you do it.

If your OS has a Snipping Tool, just snip and paste.

Steve,

Prior to posting this query on Tug - I did a Google Search to see if that would help. I did read something about a Sniping Tool but was not familiar with it
and am not sure where to find it.

Is the Sniping Tool a program I have to download?

Thanks

Richard

Hold your finger down, a menu should appear, select paste.

Persia,

I did try a long press - I did get a menu but 'Paste' was not a choice.

So, I'm still looking for a solution. Also, since it's a tablet, I'm using a virtual keyboard. I do have a regular keyboard that the tablet can plug into, if some
handy keyboard strokes would do the trick.

Thanks

Richard

not sniping tool - that what bidders use on eBay,

Snipping tool, that you "snip" with. It's built into Windows 7, but not easy to find unless you know where to look for it. After finding it I promoted it to my start menu.

When the snipping tool is opened, you can click drag on the screen to highlight a rectangular area on the screen. You then "snip", and a screen shot of whatever was in the rectangle goes onto the clipboard and is ready to paste.

Steve,

Thanks for catching my error. I was in a hurry & didn't proof my response. I'm glad the error provided a few laughs.

There's an icon on the Tablet that captures a screenshot when I tap the icon. The screenshot is placed on the clipboard. I've been able to capture that part successfully and I can view the screenshot on the clipboard.

The part I've not been able to figure out is how to paste the screenshot off the clipboard.

Doesn't it paste directly once it's on the clipboard? In Windows Ctl-V puts pastes whatever is the most recent item on the clipboard at the current cursor location (assuming that "Paste" is a legal command in the current window).

What are you trying to paste it into?

On my tablet pressing back and home together put a screen shot into the gallery.

[Ctrl] and [V] doesn't work? That's the standard keyboard shortcut.

The standard long press, copy and long press, paste should work with images, but you have to paste the image into something that can accept images.

Also pressing backhand home simultaneously should put a print screen image in your gallery.

Persia,

I didn't realize that the screencapture was automatically put in my Gallery. Yea!

I wanted to capture the 3 screens that hold my App icons
(rather than write them all down) because I might have to do a factory reset and I wanted a record of what I have downloaded.

Thanks everyone for all your help.
