Hi- looking to purchase Hyatt via resale. How does Interval International membership work in this case? Is it transferred from owner? How do we ensure we get this membership?

With Hyatt you get a corporate II account that is paid through your annual membership. Hyatt has to set that up with II for you. Once you know Hyatt has you in their system as the owner you may want to verify that they have set up or are setting up your II membership.

As tschwa states, it should be automatic. FWIW, it is a gold level account, and can only be used for your Hyatt properties.

The II membership is included in the Annual Maintenance Fee for the single week you own. If you own TWO weeks, you pay TWO II membership fees. Being a member of II outside of Hyatt the situation is much more member friendly.

Also, is it correct that you can't trade Hyatt to Hyatt in II?

Yes that is a correct statement.

You can’t see Hyatt’s in II when using your Hyatt II account.

You can only trade internally for other Hyatt’s.

do 1 have the option to upgrade to a larger unit for an upgrade fee? Or within 60 days for free? And could you use Eplus to trade up to 3 times?

You can use eplus, but if you are upgrading the size then you'll need to pay the difference in points, even within 60 days. No option to pay cash, you have to pay extra points.

That is true if using points - which is the normal way.

But if you get a replacement certificate like I did for CV19 , then it follows the rules of the certificate and does allow me to upgrade for cash.

So how many Hrc points do you need to deposit into ii too get a vacation? Is there a chart?

You do not actually have to "deposit" points for use in II. Many owners do deposit points into Extended External Exchange (EEE) for planning or to save points because they are good for use with II for 2 years FROM YOUR HOME WEEK - but they have to be moved 4 months or more before your home week use week. And once points are moved to EE they cannot be moved back to another Hyatt bucket for Hyatt reservations.

Hyatt keeps all points until an actual reservation is made so EEE is just another Hyatt bucket with it's own set of rules. SO MOVING POINTS TO EEE IS NOT MOVING THEM TO II.

If you try to make an II reservation, it will use an points you have in EEE first before looking for other available points. I think you can actually make a reservation without having enought points - and the reservation will fail to be fufilled.

If you learn the rules for the different buckets (CUP, LCUP, RCUP, EEE) it is not really that complicated. But the application of said rules to use points can hurt your head. I own an EOY unit and that requires even more work.

Is there a points chart for II, as to how many Hyatt points it is for a non Hyatt trade in II, or does it depend on the trade? Meaning, resort, time of year etc.

See post #8 above for chart. It depends on size and tdi through II.
