How does Hyatt work for booking time at non-TS Hyatt Regency

I'm trying to figure out what kind of provisions there are for Hyatt TS owners to use their ownership to book in Hyatt Regency or other non-timeshare Hyatt properties. Is there cross-over? What terms and restrictions apply (such as reservation windows). Are there special rates? Is there effectively a lower cost to reserve at, say, a Hyatt Regency via TS ownership or simply via direct booking? Other thoughts and comments?

I was wondering the same with Hilton. Quickly found out that it's not as easy as I thought it would be for HGVC members to stay/book at Hilton hotels/resorts around the world that aren't in HGVC.

If the TUG mantra of "buy resale" was used to procure the HRC TS, the crossover is non-existent as resale weeks are prohibited from being converted to Hyatt Gold Passport Points.

If the HRC week was obtained directly from Hyatt via a "dreaded full freight retail" purchase, the TS week is converted to Gold Passport Points and then a stay in any Hyatt hotel can be booked on a nightly basis. The number of points required per night varies on the level of Hyatt hotel.

Similar to the other hotel based TS programs, there are 5 or 6 hotel levels/categories - from a Hyatt Place up to a Park Hyatt. Similar to the other hotel based TS programs, converting a TS week to nightly hotel stays is not the most efficient use of MF/points - but it does open up considerable more locations worldwide.
