How do you get the annoying "alternate" resort phonecalls from II to stop?

I ended up just cancelling my ongoing request with II yesterday because somehow we got put BACK into the "alternate resort" autodialer after weeks of being off of it. It took an act of God to get taken off that autodialer in the first place (weeks of phonecalls and promises that they would take us out). I have no idea how we got put back in.

At 8 months pregnant, I can't deal with daily phonecalls when I have already asked them repeatedly to STOP CALLING us with alternates. Is there a tried-and-true method to getting taken out of the II alternate resort autodialer?

Usually asking II to not call works. Since it hasnt call II customer service explain the issue to them.

As you can tell from the number of times this same question appears and reappears just here on TUG this is an irritating and universal problem with II - it is their standard procedure to move inventory they are awash in although it isn't close to what you requested.

The apologists always say "just tell them not to do it" and, magically, the whole corporate culture of II will amazingly be altered - just for you and them of course - and the calls will cease. The reality is nothing stops them as they have far too much trash to get rid of and virtually nothing that you really want (they are not alone - over 80% of all trade requests are chasing 10% or less of the available weeks/resorts) but their method of moving the junk is far more obnoxious than most others.

I found the answer. Drop your paid II membership. Except for the whining to get you back the calls stop! If you must deal with II be in a group that offers the Corporate II Membership. You pay nothing and you get priority over the paying members. Sweet. Save money, less hassle - a real VIP status. And no phone calls. The perfect answer to one of the most irritating processes a "service" group has ever implemented.

Radical Solution.

OK, here's a radical way to fix it.

I-I signs up for a (paid) membership in RCI.

I-I deposits a big bunch of its I-I members' dogs & cats into RCI.

I-I member puts in a timeshare exchange search request with I-I.

Unable to find anything suitable in the I-I inventory, I-I instead snags something appropriate out of the RCI inventory for its I-I client, sealing the reservation for the I-I member with an RCI Guest Certificate paid for out of the I-I client's I-I exchange fee.

Is this a great country or what ?

I'm sure the OP is happy with her II membership other than these calls. She posted in another thread that she has picked up her 4th DVC exchange this year.

Dropping II won't work for the original poster because she desires DVC exchanges.
