Time For a TEAM DRINK! Buffett's back in Florida!

We will be seeing Jimmy Buffett in Orlando 2/8 and I need a hotel room for just 1 night (a Thursday).

What resource do folks use to get a good deal for just a night?

Regina

I'm not that picky but always try to get something free with the Cendant best rate guarantee. Takes a little work but usually something will pop up in larger centres.

Going to see Warren Buffet, huh? ;)

Listen to Connie.

Avoid the Kissimmee zone. Hotwire the Universal or West Airport Zone and you'll probably get a decent extended-stay type of hotel.

The savings are not as great for one night as opposed to multiple nights since the flat reservation fee ($6) is not spread over more nights or more rooms.

Well, what the heck, it's a slow day so I'll go check Hotwire for 2/8.

This one's probably the best:

2-star hotel in Orlando Airport West
This limited-service establishment offers basic accommodations, often with a few extra features. See hotel details
Area details: Close to Sea World, Wet n Wild and Universal theme parks, plus the Florida Mall. See area map
silkHotPrice1:$34 per room per night

Basically, yes, you just pay the tax, which can range for free to up to $20 or so.

I always check any hotels at tripadvisor - we're not talking Hilton or Westin, but Super 8, Howard Johnson, etc. Usually fine for a one nighter.

Here's the link on the triprewards website:

If you wants lots of into, you can wade through this flyertalk thread:

Over the last 25 months or so, I've probably obtained at least 80 or 90 hotel rooms for myself, other friends and family.
