No, I don't want to buy any more. WE have used most of our points for a week in a 2 bedroom at Old Town Aleaxandria. We have 105000 points left and our dau who is getting married wants a resort and unit that is 126000 for the week. I was told I can't rent or borrow from 2017 until 90 days before the desired exchange, Anybody know any other options
thanks
Pat

Credit pool your 2017 points, and you'll have access to them immediately. They will be good for three years from the date you pool them.

Edit to clarify - do you want an exchange through RCI, or 126,000 points to book through Wyndham? If it's an exchange, the credit pool won't work.

You can credit pool your 2017 points and use some or all of them now

If you are considering a RCI exchange, you may deposit points to RCI up to 10 months before the start of your Use Year, so you might be able to deposit points now from your next Use Year (not 90 days in advance of the exchange).

Your post is not very clear. Do you have a January Use Year? Are the remaining 105,000 points for Jan. - Dec. 2015, or Jan. - Dec. 2016?

Are you trying for a RCI exchange? Where and when are you thinking about exchanging into?

The simplest and cheapest option would be for your daughter to choose a Wyndham resort where, as others have noted, you could credit pool the necessary points.

our points are Jan to Dec 2016. The question concerns 2016 points of which only 105000 remain. I have weeks with RCI but this is a Wyndham resort requiring Wyndham points of 126000. How and when do I credit pool? Do I credit pool all of the 336000 points or just what is needed for ths reservatio. Are there any negatives to credit pooling. We are relatively new to Wyndham and still learning.
Thanks again
Pat

There are two factors to consider about credit pooling.

1. You will lose ARP at your resort or resorts (if you have CWA or Myrtle Beach) for the points you credit pool.

2. Once credit-pooled, the points are no longer eligible for deposit to RCI.

Other than that, there are no negatives to credit pooling. So if you don't need the ARP and don't plan to deposit to RCI, there would be no reason not to credit pool the entire amount rather than just what is required, since you'll have more flexible use of the points (for 3 years from the time of credit pooling) to use the points.

Why does it require Wyndham points? Have u checked to see if what you want is available via RCI? Do a search using your weeks points.

Somepeople might say the negative is that you can pool all your 2017 points, and in January pool all your 2018 points. Then go nuts and use them for vacations now

If you did that youll be stuck with no points until the 2019 use year but still be opligated for monthly maintenance fees until them

not to worry though.. in Jan 2017 you can pool the 2019 points (ask me how I know.....)

Ive been living on pooled points for the last 5 years. I keep buying but never seem to catch up. Right now I have no 2015, 2016 or 2017 points available, Ive used them all and Im eagerly awaiting Jan so I can get to 2018

It seems you are short on 21K points. You can use the credit pool feature for Wyndham only reservations. Credit pool all or a portion of your 2017 points. Credit pooled points are good for 3 years from the date of deposit. Credit pool points are only good for Wyndham reservations and are not eligible for RCI deposits. You do not have ARP with credit pool points.

Good luck,
Cynthia T. :)

If you are looking at a Wyndham property, why are you trying to book through RCI? It is usually a better use of points to book directly with Wyndham.

Through Wyndham, you can book partial weeks. I am an organist and never book a full week, but often book 5 or 6 days. Friday and Saturday usually cost twice the points of the other days of the week.

I haven't done the credit pool yet, but I believe that you pay about $39 and all your points for that year go into the pool.

The idea of booking an express reservation (less than 90 days out) that requires a total of 126K points--borrowing the extra that you need, and then cancelling it might put the points into your current use year. They have changed the rules recently so you might want to check.

I've owned with Wyndham for years and have never used an exchange through RCI...I use my points at Wyndham properties and rarely pay a fee (sometimes housekeeping because I don't stay for full weeks.) RCI has big fees!

Good luck!

Yes, If the reservation is for a Wyndham reservation, there is no need to do anything with RCI.

Originally, I thought the OP wanted to do an RCI exchange from her 1st post. I saw her other post and realized she wants another Wyndham reservation.

Her only option right now is the credit pool - to be able to use a future use years points now. That is if the reservation is for 2016 or later.

how do I get more points

It appears that our daughter's first choice is Bluebeards Beach Club in St Thomas and her preference is a studio/loft because it is a bit bigger than the studio and more importantly, is on the top floor. There is no availability in RCI though we have weeks we can use for exchange. She has also provided some other options through RCI
Thanks for all the info

Can you not reserve BBC with Wyndham points?

Edit, you can, and by the points chart it looks like you are seeking something between weeks 18-51. It's coded as Value Season, so it would be hard to imagine that they would be booked up at the 10 month mark if you Credit Pool.

Yes, she is getting married in june 2016. only availability is a studio, no studio/loft units. And then she might change her mind about honeymoon destination.
