How do Club Points Work in Trading into Interval Priority Wise

Hi,

Been using Interval ((II) on the Vistana side for many years and I understand how the priority of your unit works in matching to available II units when you put in a request. New to the Marriott side. How do club points work priority wise when matching in II? Say you put in a request for some places using club points. How does II assign units to people priority wise if it is just club points? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Marriott points cannot be traded in Interval to any Marriott or Vistana resort. Only to non Marriott Inventory.

No. A Marriott week has Marriott preference in Interval for Marriott to Marriott trades and also provides a discounted Marriott to Marriott exchange fee of $164 (instead of the standard exchange fee of $229)

I think it would depend on the resort, week reserved, now far out one is searching and the expectations. As for comparing a 2 BR silver to a 1 BR Gold or Platinum, none of us truly know but it's likely the 1 BR better week would be stronger than the 2 BR lower week all else equal. It doesn't matter if it gets you what you want though. For me personally I'd rather have a reasonable deposit than the points if I had something I thought I could get on exchange that would be helpful. It's very likely you'd end up with a better value doing so. But like anything else, it depends on specifics.

My MVC silver 2-bed trades very well in II into higher seasons, particularly when I use it to go back the the resort it is at.
I've consistently used it for the last 20 years to get gold or gold plus weeks, and seen platinum weeks with it. I've had good luck exchanging it across many MVC resorts, as well as other elite properties in II.
There is a lot of huff and puff made about the "best" MVC trader, and its absolutely correct to get the best season you can when buying resale, but the difference has not been that significant for where and when we travel (usually shoulder season 2-bed for 2-bed). I can see slightly more inventory with my MVC 2-bed high season than the low season ones, but not much. If you request early then it works well as requesting realistically.
