Did anyone watch the Sugar Bowl last night between Utah and Alabama?

What a game!!!

The Crimson Tide didn't know what hit them. It was pretty exciting for those of us in Utah. The Mountain West Conference doesn't get a whole lot of respect nationally, but we have a few good teams from time to time. With apologies to 'bama fans who may be feeling blue, I thought the game was a fun start to the new year.

Im thinkin if they are that good and want respect, they shoudl move to a BCS conference no?

Still an impressive win nonetheless...very good performance by them!
 
I watched it and loved every minute of it. And I'm no Ute or MWC fan. Just nice to see another data point that shows that there's minimal difference between the top BCS and top non-BCS teams. The Utah defense totally dominated the Tide. Something like 8 sacks and under 250 total yards allowed. Nice job Utes!
 
Gotta love the BCS, a one-loss team will be the national champ while an undefeated team will not be. Any chance Utah will wind up #2 or will that go to the loser of the National Championship bowl?

Of all the BCS games it was 4th out of 5 on my list of best match ups. BUT after just 5 minutes I was hooked for the entire game. It was great and I especially loved it when Alabama scored in the second half and the Utes just took it right down the field on the ensuing drive! They had some impressive offensive plays...

Great job Utah and I do hope that they get the #2 slot!!!
 
I'm not a sports fan but did catch the very end of the game. I was visiting with family and the guys were huddled in the basement watching the game while we ladies were upstairs playing with the grandbaby. She was acting somewhat subdued and serious with her playthings. At one point someone took her downstairs to visit her daddy and grandpas. We could hear her squealing with delight all the way upstairs. I later asked my husband what they had done to make her so boisterously happy. He said they didn't do anything. She was just watching the game! Another Ute fan in the making.
 
After watching the Bama Florida game. I thought Bama was for real this year. Which makes the Utah win even more impressive.

Loved the game! We're big Utah fans and were looking forward to the Sugar Bowl. Very impressive win for the Utes!

DH & I each have 2 degrees from Utah and live within 5 minutes of the campus. Our two oldest sons have attended college in Colorado, but many of their friends are currently enrolled at Utah.

Go Utes!
 
Bama did have a major player suspended and another injured at the beginning of the game. My DAWGS had 17 season ending injuries and still managed to be 10-3. As much as I want the SEC to win their games, I couldn't help but be pleased that Bama knew how the DAWGS felt when we played them. I do admire coaches who will bench major players. Utah looked great. I wonder why they don't join a conference. I know sometimes they don't want to split thier bowl money with the other conference teams.

They are in the Mountain West Conference, which consists mostly of teams that are located in the Rockies and surrounding area - Utah, BYU, New Mexico, Colorado State, Air Force and Wyoming, along with TCU, UNLV and San Diego State.
 
I went with my son to the U of U book store today so he could buy clothes for his little family to wear back to Pensacola when they fly home this week. They are looking forward to flaunting Utah's win to their co-workers. Even the baby got socks and a t-shirt.
