We are going to Italy in August and are looking at availability of hotels. We are considering the Le Meridien Visconti in Rome and wonder if anyone else has stayed there. We also looked at the Grand Flora but it is much more expensive and they don't have the availability at the time we want. We are Marriott (now Bonvoy) points holders and when you now search the website the number of hotels to choose from is quite large and confusing.

Any thoughts? Also any recommendations for other Rome hotels and general Italy suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance! tlwmkw

We stayed at The Crowne Plaza St. Peter’s Square, was convenient to the bus and close to everything.
We are Holiday Inn Club members so we used points.

As a follow up- we ended up staying at the Grand Flora and loved it. It must have had a recent refurb because our room seemed brand new and was sparkling clean. The staff were all great and got us taxis as needed and helped with booking restaurants, etc. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was really good and the view was amazing. After seeing comments here we tried for the Palazzo Naidi But we couldn’t get it and were glad we couldn’t when we saw the location. It is in a very busy area just near the train station- we popped in to the lobby there and it was nice too though. If you need to be close to the train then it would be good.
