I need to use the hotel portion of a travel package-it is a cat. 6-I was told by reservations that I can't use it at a MVCI? Is this true? There is availabilty using points at the Orlando prop. I am trying to get into.

The cat 6 certificate you have should be good anywhere that shows availability. It is very typical for Orlando MVCI resorts to have availability while other MVCI resorts do not.

Call your VOA and have him/her book Orlando for you.

MVC and travel package

The Hotel portion of travel package can only be used at hotels and not for a timeshares stay. Points accumulated through turning in your week also are suppose to not be used for MVC properties. There is a JW hotel in Orlando and a number of Marriott around Disney.

Kilby is correct. The hotel cert portion of a Travel Package cannot be used for a Marriott timeshare stay. One way to prove that is that you won't find any of Marriott's timeshares listed in the hotel "categories", a necessity for determing which hotels fall within the Category 6 (and lower) universe.

There are separate (non-Travel Package) Rewards for use at MVCI timeshares.

The JW is really nice property and it ajoined with the Ritz you won't have the space of a TS but the service is great.
