We have a TS there for about 2 years now, so of course it is not paid for and our life has turned upside down since we thought this may have been a good idea (which we have come to our senses). I have a very sick child, and I am a disable vet whose disabilities have increased and I no longer travel. So I must have talked to every Time Share company to try to get rid of this thing that is out there with nothing to avail. I have recently learned that HI. has a program for taking back TS. Does anyone know about this? I am sure if you have everything paid for it does make the transaction easier. However on their web page they do talk about people with having a mortgage they can still help get out of their situation hmmm? My husband and I was wondering if we should just get a loan and pay this off, we never did do that, so our loan is still with them. Yes :( I know a very high %. We have great credit, we are bad at just getting around to stuff. So at this point we just don't know what to do but we are going down, we can not keep this up too much longer. Thanks Tatergirl

Here is the link to the Holiday Inn website for Horizons. You can leave your information or call the 800 number. A mortgage that is not paid off is a real albatross. If you are thinking of walking away, you don't want to refinance with someone else. If you decide to default, you want to default on Holiday Inn. That being said, in Florida the most the timeshare company can do is take back the timeshare and ding your credit. Florida is a non-recourse state.

Whatever you do, be your own advocate, and don't hire an exit company. Nothing good can happen with that scenario. Money back guarantees are a fantasy.
