We decided we wanted to get away for a few days and booked some time at HVC Scottsdale Links.

Here are my observations so far:
  • It's basically an apartment complex in terms of layout and configuration
  • we are staying in a 3 bedroom apartment.
    • Reminds me of a decent mid-range build that's 15+ years old.
    • the interior decor feels like it's out of style by at least a decade, maybe 2+
    • Nice sized rooms - 2 have queen beds and 1 has king bed with in-suite bathroom.
    • second bathroom is between the other 2 bedrooms
    • Nice size living area with a reasonably decent pull out sofa bed
    • Kitchen with dinette area, is nicely functional
    • Pretty nice balcony, overlooking... nothing of interest
  • Everything is lower quality than what we've found in HGVC properties (MarBrisa, Liberty Place, Breckenridge, Park City)
    • beds aren't as nice
    • sheets and pillows aren't as nice
    • general decor is older and note as nice
    • everything is functional and nothing is "broken" - it's just not the same quality as say MarBrisa in CA
    • Don't get me wrong, there isn't anything "bad" about things, just not as nice as other locations. Perhaps this is the "HVC" as opposed to the "HGVC" level of accommodation
  • Pools are ok, but it is more of just a regular pool and isn't particularly "resort" in style
  • They do have some covered parking, so that is nice, especially since it is supposed to be unseasonably hot with 112 (!) tomorrow
We are a family of 4. So, this is good space for us with ample opportunity to spread out and relax, which was our goal.

PS - the AC works great.

Hope this helps someone!
