Question for the long time HGVC Owners - I'm into my 2nd year of ownership and haven't dealt with Week 53 yet. I'm planning to use our unit over New Years '16/17 and the first week of January in LV at Flamingo from Dec 30 - Jan 9. Typically this would be a few days of Week 52 (Platinum) and Week 1 (Silver).

In 2016, Week 53 starts on either 12/30 or 12/31.

Does anyone know if Week 53 is treated as Week 52 from a points perspective, or as Week 1?

I don't have any personal experience with this situation, but assume each night would cost the rate for that season. The week cost would be sum of the platinum and silver nights respectively.

Update from HGVC

I noticed that there were a lot of views on this thread, so I thought I would come back and let everyone know the the official response that I received from HGVC this morning.

"week 53 will be platinum as that will be the New Year's event week for 2016".
