Thanks for the link. The findings are not very surprising. HHonors accumulates points the fastest and is the most flexible of the hotel loyalty programs in my opinion. Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred are are more cumbersome and do not accumulate as rapidly in my experience. However, my first Marriott Rewards Redemption was at the JW Marriott Guanacaste in February 2011. It was excellent. Meanwhile, after several years I now have enough points for a nice SPG redemption but I have not yet decided where to go. Meanwhile, we have had wonderful experiences using HHonors redemptions in Hungary, Puerto Rico, Lake Tahoe, Barcelona, San Diego, and Los Cabos. We anticipate some nice redemptions in the near future at some posh resorts.

HGVC has enabled us and/or forced us to travel around the world. I view my membership as a luxury item rather than as an investment. However, I worked hard for those good times.
