News Release: Town Council Committee Approves Recommendations for Short-Term Rentals

The town has done a survey and is considering limitations/restrictions (and possibly additional fees?) for short-term rentals, with the next step in the process a Town Council meeting on April 19th. I'm not seeing anything specific yet but several survey respondents have mentioned timeshares so it's worth watching. Links to information are embedded in the news release.

My suggestion would be for as many HHI timeshare owners to submit comment. The problem is that most localities create blanket laws that don't always address the actual issue. If it is about parking and ordinances, then timeshares should be excluded.

HHI is just like other towns that have been discovered by the masses. Three that we visited in the late 50s that I would never go back to today are HHI, Key West and Santa Fe. All have been ruined after being "discovered"...

Sedona seems to be in that category too.

Hidden gem: Edisto Island. Too far off the beaten path (I95) to be 'Discovered'.
