What's your experience travelling to HH early Nov? I've looked up avg temps and rainfall for the month, but wonder about folks' first-hand experiences.

And how 'bout fall foliage, are there any pretty leaves left?

We were there mid-October last year. We had a mix of warm enough to sun by the pool days and drizzly rainy days. Previously we had only been summer visitors so this was a change. We still played mini golf and rode bikes every day.

I think early Nov the weather can be hit or miss. I've been to HHI as late as mid Oct and when we went it was still summer like with the air and water temps still close to 80.

We went the week right before Thanksgiving one year, and loved it. You can get really warm days still (as you can anywhere in the Carolinas) and you can get some drizzly ones, too.

The restaurants are open and not crowded. The biking, walking, birding and dolphin watching are as good as ever.

If the timing works for you, I'd say go for one of the Marriotts that has an indoor pool, and you'll be good. :)

great time to be there, but nobody goes to HH for Fall foliage, as there isn't much. Low country trees just don't do much of anything. There aren't any maples to speak of, and the oaks are of the wrong varieties. You'll see occasional bursts of color, nothing spectacular. But you'll make up for it with sheer fun walking the beach or biking the trails, or some great dining.

For Fall foliage, try Willamsburg...beyond beautiful. We love both for different reasons.

We own a fixed week that's the first week of November at Port O Call on
Hilton Head. We use it every year and love it! Temps usually range anywhere from 60-80 for highs. Great time of year to bike, walk on the beach, play golf and avoid the crowds! And we swim daily in Port O Call's outdoor heated pool..love it! As for pretty fall foilage..no...mostly palm trees on Hilton Head!

It's 73 here today and the trees and bushes are starting to bud/bloom. I would think that the first week of Feb would be colder than the first week of Nov, but who knows? There won't be any snow and it will probably be sunny. I think Nov is a great time of year here.

We're RCI only, so it's the one without an indoor pool, but I'm not too picky :) - we exchanged into Monarch over 10 years ago, and I've been hoping to see this online again at a decent time of year. Back then we went to Grande Ocean for some activities, seems like they told us we could use their facilities, wonder if that's still the case.

Maybe we''ll have a little NC-contingent get-together! It's not for this year but next.

Pat, I bet you say that about every time of year there. :D

Cannot use Grande Ocean's facilities. Limited to owners and guests staying there.

Sounds great, we'll be there ! We own a June week and a November
week on Hilton Head, and we much prefer November. (In fact, we almost
always trade the June week..too hot for us that time of year!)
