I was looking at our Hilton Flamingo reservation, and it says EP-SU for the unit number. Obviously, the SU is for Sunday. Anyone know what the EP stands for? Should we request a certain unit and location?

I dont know what EP is.. but they assign units as you check in.
I'd ask for a higher floor pool view.

IIRC, nobody in the main tower at HGVC Flamingo has a pool view. The hallways look out at the pool, and the living room of the units look back at the monorail.

I *think* the north tower units have pool views, but that tower is pretty inconvenient for getting in & out. So beware of asking for a pool view -- you'll have a hike to your room.

I believe EP stands for European Plan, although I am not one hundred percent sure.

European Plan, used in hospitality industry, refers to a travel package paying a fixed rate that covers lodging and service but not the meals. American Plan, on the other hand, is a package paying a fixed rate that covers room and all meals.

I thought all the rooms looked out to the pool and garden area as the units are in a horseshoe shape? I can't picture the tower that does not. We have never had a bad view there and I also like the lower floors with the trees right outside the windows.

I'm going back in June, so I can get my memory refreshed.

We picked the Flamigo because we will be going to a convention at the Venetian. From Google earth, it even looks like we can take the back way so to speak on the road behind the Flamingo to the Venetian Convention center. I was hoping EP stood for "Elegant Penthouse."
Thanks, Darlene

Back way Flamingo to Convention Center

I stayed at the HGVC Flamingo a couple years ago for a convention at the Venitian. I walked the back way which takes about 10-15 min. I walked through the timeshare complex behind the Flamingo. I'm not sure I'd walk it at night alone as it can be very lonely. During the day it was fine.

A few times I walked the strip and with dodging the crowds, walking through the casino and extra distance it took me from 20 to 30 minutes.

My stay predated the monorail but you should check that out also.

Oops, you guys are right, they all face the pool. Somehow I reversed it in my mind. CRAFT disease, I guess (thanks for reference, Fern. I love it).

There is a monorail station very close to the HGVC Flamingo (1 city block or so?) We used it last time we were there and thought it was great.

The monorail station is right in front of HGVC Flamingo but you have to go into the Flamingo hotel and then backto the monorail to get to it...There is no special entrance like Summer Bay has - the Flamingo manager said that Summer Bay paid for that and HGVC opted not to..
