I just matched on an ongoing exchange into Hilton Bay Club. Does this resort have pool privilege with Hilton Waikoloa resort??
Thanks, Laurie

Forget it, I just called the resort and it is 80.00 for a one day pass and 150 for a three day pass.

Hilton Pools

Before you spend the money for the pass, go over to the Hilton and see if you want to spend the time there. It is lovely, but there are so many other great beaches on the island that you may find that it may not be worth the money.

Enjoy yourself!

We had resort privileges at the hotel (we stayed at Kings' Land) and never used them. We went over to the hotel side once - to stroll around the grounds at sunset. We stayed at the hotel years ago, and the kids liked the pool/lagoon, but they were very happy at different beaches, too. There is just too much to do on the island to spend time at the pool. I'm with Chester - it's not a big deal. BTW, we didn't use the Kings' Land super pool either.

Thanks for the info. This is our first time to the Big Island, have been to the others. So we will probably spend our time exploring. :)

Our Big Island strategy is to stay at Bay Club (we like better than other HGVC and BI timeshares) and drive to a different beach each day for two weeks. No need to ever use the pools with the best beaches in the world nearby!

Congratulations, you will have a great time! Can you share a little bit about your exchange process?

When are you going, and did you have to wait long for the exchange to match? I've been curious how easy a trade this is.

Thanks very much!

Greg

Greg, I have had this ongoing search since Aug,2010. I used the old type of Wyndham deposit before the change into TPU's. My deposit was a 1 bed, red season. BTW, i didn't specify for a Hilton.

Oh and I am going in May, 2012

They have just finished, or are about to finish, depending on when you are travelling, a complete renovation of the Bay Club. All new hard and soft finishes, they are really nice, and really large units.

The pool at Hilton is OK, but we had free access when we stayed at Kings land and only used it one day. They then had to close the pool because someone had a dump in the pool, gross. We stayed at the resort after that.

We're going to the Bay Club in May also. Got a 2 BR for 52,500 RCI points. Gave up waiting for a Kona Coast Resort.

Looks like HGVC did a bulk deposit several days ago. Still a lot of units left.

The pictures of the new upgrades look nice! :) Ron, when are you going to be there??

We were at the Bay Club this last week and it was wonderful! HUGE 2-bedroom units with tons of space in the unit as well as outside on the lanai.

Bay Club, Hawaii: check-in May 18th for 7 nites.

Then onto:

Kahana Falls, Maui: check-in May 25th for 7 nites.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I have stayed at the Bay Club several times and the pool was not included at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. It is included if you stay at Kings Land. But, the only reason to use the Hilton Resort pool is that it has slides for children. You can pay a fee and go for one day if you want. But, you can also rent pontoon boats and go out on the Lagoon with children and go diving, or take them to swim with the dolphins (big fee for that).

The pools at the Bay Club are nice, but not real big. Maybe call ahead and ask to get a room with a view of the golf course, it is better than looking at the parking lot. Not too many units have a view of the pool or located next to the pool. Both pools are an easy walk from any unit in the Bay Club.

Congrats on your exchange. Waikola is a great place to stay and an excellent exchange through RCI.

I read that the 2 BR's face the golf course :)whoopie: ), the 1BR's face the parking lot :)bawl:), and nobody gets a pool or ocean view :)( ).

Ron, you are just arriving and we are leaving on the 18th. :bawl: I thought we would leave on a Friday arriving home on Saturday. That would give me the whole weekend to adjust back to the timechange.

We picked the Friday check-in/out because the airline fares are cheaper. :D

Although, we'll be flying non-stop from Vegas to Hawaii on Hawaiin Air, the flights are still a killer  .

Since you'll check-out about 10am and we'll check-in about 4pm, won't have a chance to say hi :hi: .

Do you know the details on the 3 days pass, i.e. 3 consecutive days or 3 in a week, month, etc.?

My wife and I stayed at Kingsland this past summer, didn't like the master bath, and visited the Hilton hotel at least 4 times. We walked, boated, trammed, all over that resort. From what I saw, the only time we needed to show our Kingsland key was to get towels. We only swam there once. We loved eating lunch at the restaurant overlooking to the dolphin pool. Loved getting the double lounge chair with canopy top and watch the sunset over the water, bringing our own cocktails. Also hiked the ocean trail both north and south from the hotel. So there are things to do there without needing a pass.

The pass includes 4 people, I didn't ask if the three day pass had to be consecutive days or not. Thanks for all the other info that we could do at the resort without having to buy a pass. Lunch overlooking the dolphin pool sounds great :whoopie:

Touring the hotel is like going to an art museum and well worth the time to walk around it.
