I'm at WMH, and the internet connection is slower than a 56k dial-up  (using the cnet.com bandwidth test) -- just like the service and slower check-in (but that's another story).... Any advice on how to get a faster connection? How is the internet connection at other SVO locations?

Are you using the wireless or the ethernet connection? If you are using wireless connection, make sure you have a strong enough signal. Last time I was there, the connection speed would vary significantly during the day even though I had already switched to wired rather than wireless. At times it would connect at a crawling speed (probably similar to what you are experiencing), and at times it would just cruise the way a high speed connection is supposed to be.

I checked into WMH on Saturday, and couldn't get on the internet at all. I spoke to Sprint who supports Starwood's internet at their properties. They ran out of available IP addresses at WMH. What this tells me is that the internet at WMH is just overloaded. It's a large resort and the network probably hasn't been expanded to handle the higher number of laptops and other internet connected devices that people now bring to the resort. I also don't notice much difference between wired and wireless which means the problem is available bandwidth across the network.

Thanks for the great responses! I was able to get a wired connection in the room, but this connection is pretty slow (52 kbps). I cannot get onto the wireless connection at all because it appears that there are no more IP addresses available to be assigned. At least I am thankful to be able to get a connection so that I could get great feedback from this site! Thanks again!
