I own HGVC Flamingo in Vegas, and am considering a resale purchase at HGVC Sunrise Lodge in Park City Utah (having just been able to use my Flamingo points for a stay during the Sundance Film Festival). My question is about Sundance - a TUG BBS post several years ago indicated that they planned to sell fixed Sundance weeks (late January every year). But the seller of the resale week I am looking at indicates that it is a floating week including 1-15 and 47-52 (which implies that there are no fixed ski weeks). Does anyone know for sure whether or not Sunrise sold any fixed weeks? (The resort is sold out, so no new weeks are for sale). The resale week is pricey as HGVC resale weeks go, but Sundance is in very high demand, and since I'd like to attend the festival on a regular basis, I believe it is worth it to pay up in order to get a Home Week booking preference.

That statement is not necessarily true -- they could have sold a portion of that week as fixed, and have the other portion available for floating week owners. This is what they did in Valdoro -- they have sold many fixed ski weeks, but they also have some "float winter" weeks (all in the same room category).

Just call the resort, they should know.
