Hello Tuggers,

Where do HGVC members usually list their units for rent?
I am having trouble find something at Kingsland Waiokoloa for next summer.
Nothing on VRBO, TUG or Redweek...seems strange to me.

Thank you for any suggestions.

I sometimes see ads for general point rentals in the marketplace. HGVC doesn't encourage owner rentals, so I think a lot of people do it more underground. You may want to place a want to rent ad in the Marketplace and let owners contact you directly.

A friendly reminder: this is a hypothetical discussion, not a rental request.

Owners are allowed to rent their home week. It is against hgvc rules to rent non home week reservation. TUG has listing for rentals.

Kingsland is so easy to get yourself through Hilton.com website. Daily room service as opposed to every third night, same rooms and amenities. We got a 2bedroom 2 bath phase 1 for $275 a night. In the future, I'd save my points for something like Waikiki where rooms are much more competitive.

Am I understanding correctly or do I have it wrong from reading this thread. That with HVG not suppose to rent unless it's a their home week? I have a wish request up and got a reply below , I did link this thread to the person .

"Hgv doesn't have a home week... Points can be used any week. I rent all the time. I don't know where that came from''

Thanks for your guidance

Tia, officially you have a home season and unit size. BOTH of those items make up your HOME reservation.

You can't change season or size or location obviously, or its not a home resort booking.

What the others have shared is correct, but I suspect many people do rent out non home week reservations.

I usually see lots of rentals for kings land on redweek or Tug. What month are you looking for? It may just be too early

I have put in a request for the Caribbean, STT next January and someone replied offering to use HGV points sending me a message reply when I questioned the ability to rent it to someone. I know Wyndham lets people rent using their points, but see here your all saying not HGV.

Thanks as don't want to have a problem on vacation .

HGVC has no resorts nor affiliates in the Caribbean (we wish!). Has to be a different system with points. Given the destination and the comment you got from the owner, it makes sense if they were part of Marriott's (MVC) DC points.

He said he also has RCI, which I know doesn't allow rentals. Interesting to read there are no Caribbean HGV. I'll continue to hope for something else thanks all.

I *thought* it used to be that you could "legally" rent RCI weeks, provided you only charged for the Guest Cert and *maybe* the deposit fee? But nothing "extra".

I could be totally wrong, and it was a long time ago (7+ years ago) that they used to have some wording to that effect.

I don't know that it's all that surprising that HGVC has no Carribean properties. The hotel chain has very little presence in the Carribean. I'm not surprised that a hotel chain that hasn't expanded into one region would also be devoid of hotel properties in the same place.
