Hi all. Last June, just before we went on a trip to Orlando for a volleyball tournament, I was contacted by HGVC marketing to offer me a HGVC Prepaid Getaway. Since I was going to be staying at the Hilton Orlando, they had my contact info. I ended up doing it, and I know its really just a sales pitch, but here's my question. When I was offered this "deal", I was told that they will definitely have inventory available at the Hilton Orlando. Does anyone know if that is true, or has used a HGVC Prepaid Getaway there? If yes, any idea how far out they normally release inventory? Or know who I can call to get that info? I have asked HGVC, but they say they have no idea. They say they have inventory at a ton of other Orlando locations in June, the days we want, so I'm getting a little skeptical.

HGVC calls me probably 4 times per week trying to get me to book my stay. But, the Hilton Orlando has not released any inventory to them for June, so I can't. I only want to stay there because of the volleyball tournament, which is a HUGE national tournament with teams from all over. The tournament is at the OCCC, which is attached to the Hilton Orlando, so its super convenient.

They will definitely have inventory, but will they have inventory on the specific week when there is a national tournament going on next door? That is the question you should have asked them. I haven't used them before but generally a large event may cause the inventory available to be released to dwindle down to possibly zero.

When I purchased the Getaway, I asked that question, and was told they have inventory for every week, as the participating locations have dedicated inventory. I know that could be complete BS, and we made the purchase knowing we could get screwed. I’m hoping someone has experience with this location and knows when they released the inventory, or who to reach out to.

Even as an owner of HGVC, I have purchased their prepaid Getaways. When I buy them, as you have done, I do not book the actual stay immediately, and then, yes, they call all the time for you to book a stay. ( I just got called for one that I did not even travel to, and they are still willing to let me 'renew' it if I simply book my dates. )

To be clear, when you 'want to book' vs. 'what is available to book' via the package you've paid for is often very frustrating. Only once have I been able to get exactly what I wanted when I wanted.

By the way, I have used this exact package to stay at the Hilton Orland, which I feel is a very nice hotel and close to Parc Soleil, which you would have to visit to complete your package stay.

It makes sense to me that the particular Hotel you want does not have any rooms on offer for the package if there is a national 'anything' going on at that same place and time.

Lastly, there is no one to contact; the folks who will book your stay either have the units you want or do not. The hotel itself is not at all involved. If you paid $99 for three nights, I'd take what they have on offer immediately since you mentioned a national tournament taking place.

When you say "the Hilton Orlando" what property are you referring to? A specific hotel or timeshare? Generally these getaways are offered up for stays at one of the HGVC properties, not one of the regular hotels.

Edit to add: I see now you are referring to a property close to OCCC, is the property you are looking for Las Palmeras? I wouldn't expect the Hilton Hotel that is next to the OCCC to be available to book via these packages. These packages tend to come out of timeshare inventory.

Hilton Orlando is a pure Hilton Hotel; I've booked many a getaway over the years as they are an AWESOME value if you want to save your points for something else.
When they offer you the package, they will have a definitive list of properties you can stay in based on that package, and almost always, pure hotel properties are included.

I've used a Getaway in Orlando to stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek, a very nice Hilton Hotel considered on Disney property.

As mentioned, I've also stayed at the Hilton Orlando via a Getaway. Small world that it is, it was a Getaway that put me in the Hilton Orlando, which led me to a VIP purchase, which then led me to purchase a full retail unit. Oh, how I wish I had known about TUG!

Interesting. I get emails all the time from HGVC. I've signed up for two of them. They always list either, Tuscany Village, Parc Soleil, Sea World or Las Palmeras as options to book.

Availability Availability Availability. Just like the insurance commercial says Price Price Price, and the real estate person says Location Location, Location that is what the hotel and timeshare industry says. The time you need in June is not only when this special event is being held close to the Orlando Hilton it is also June which starts the summer vacation high season.

You may need to expand your request if you want to use your getaway for the OCCC.

The last call, they told me the Las Palmeras is available for a 1BR and I could request to get a 2BR for $100/night extra, but no guarantee on that part. I wanted to say yes, but my daughters team will be staying at Hilton Orlando, like we did last year, so we are hoping it works out, even though we know it’s a long shot.

The package we took was $200 for 4 nights in Orlando, get $200 back plus some points when we go to the presentation. We looked at it as a $200 gamble to save $1000, based on what we paid in June 2024 at the discounted rate for the tournament. For 2025, the Hilton Orlando is not currently on the discounted hotel list for the tournament.
