Has anyone ever asked for a points audit? Here's the story:
We have a lot of points. I have various spreadsheets to track the balances for each year and our different reservations. I frequently make changes to add a night here or change room types or whatever as things open up. Last night I made a couple changes and it appeared my account was off by 840 points (not in my favor). I figured it would correct itself overnight as we say at the beginning of the year when some people had no points and others had double points.
Then today I made another transaction and suddenly I was off by about 2,000 points. So I called HGVC and asked them to look into it. They said they would do a "points audit" that would take about a week. He explained they go through my account transaction-by-transaction and recalculate everything. They said they'd send the data back to me in Excel so I could then do my own math and comparisons. I'm not sure how it's possible for the system to make a mistake but I guess even banks make non-human mistakes from time-to-time.
Just wondering if anyone else ever had one of these audits done.
