HGVC Midtown Orlando open for reservations??

I have heard that they are taking reservations for the new Midtown Orlando resort in Orlando for 2009. Does anyone know when the reservations start and if they have opened it up to anyone to book or just the current owners at Midtown Orlando? We were hoping to get in the beginning of January but were told it was totally booked. International Drive also has very little availability and we were hoping to stay at one of the newer resorts. Anyone know what the chances are for a cancellation. We will be there for 10 days.

I was surprised when I read in the August newsletter that Hilton is taking reservations for Midtown, although I don't remember seeing a start date. I did an owners' update at that property in February, and it didn't look like it would be ready for at least a year.

I actually booked that location last Monday for next May. The on-line site (at least on Monday) didn't have that location loaded into the system, so I booked it via phone call. Not sure when it officially opens, but I thought they said February, but I'm not sure about that.

Also, I don't own at that location. Booked Club Season (9 month window).

Another point: When I looked on-line before I called, I noticed that there was a big discrepancy on availability between the old booking system and the new booking system. For my May dates, both versions showed no availability for Midtowne. But the new system showed no availability for SW, but lots of availability for I-drive, while the old system showed lots of availibility for both locations.

I thought that HGVC was going to call the new orlando resort Ruby Lake?

They may have thought of that name, 'cuz its close to mid-way between Disney+Universal, but its really a misnomer, as its in the middle of nowhere.
