Does anyone know if they are doing construction at the new strip location on the weekends? Just wondering how is the construction noise. Am planning a stay there during the weekend. Am I better staying at the Las Vegas Hilton? I'm driving from the LA area. I usually fly, but how is the drive on the weekends? Thanks for any info.

The drive on the weekend --- especially Friday afternoon from LA can be any where from four to eight hours....I have experienced both....and the four hours is MUCH better than the eight hours

Coming back on a Sunday can be the same.....

That's why I seldom "do" Vegas on the weekends any more...If I do go on the weekend it will be a Saturday morning returing Monday morning.

As far as construction...someone else probably knows that answer...but I don't think they work on the weekend normally.

I just had the drive from HELL!!!

Vegas to Victorville.. non traffic.. 2 1/2 hours.. with traffic 4 hours max..

This past Sunday.. left at 11am.. got to Jean, traffic stopped. Fatalities and the 15S was closed for hours. Turned around, went down the 95, got to the 40. by now its 3pm.
Construction delays for 23 miles.. freeway was stopped.

Went through 29 Palms.. took over 8 hours!!

It was horrible .. plus just me 5 kids..

Do you know how many times we had to stop?

We had one of those once....

First the 91 was as usual just terrible crawling along at about 10 to 20 mph...Then they closed the 15 at Victorville (for an accident) and we got to take the "scenic route" all the way to past Barstow. I got to see Helendale & Silverlake at night!

Left LA at about 2 PM and it was just before 11 PM when we checked into the HGVC on Karen.:bawl:
