I am buying HGVC at International drive Orlano. We almost bought a couple of weeks ago from them on location . But I am a research fanatic so we waited. Now I am on the verge of buying re-sale for the same location for a much better price.
Here is my question. If I buy re-sale from a reputable broker am I still going to get the exact same club that I would have bought on their sight? The broker says yes but when I call HGVC. I get conflecting answers.
Has anyone bought this property at this locatio retail and can you tell me I am really likely to expect? Same club or something much less deirable.

Thanks Coolmom

If you do further research, you can even do better than the broker prices.

HGVC is not telling the truth, broker is. Only thing is that resale does not qualify you for Elite status down the road if you end up owning 17,000 or more HGVC points, and this status is not worth much in opinion of most folks here on TUG. So go resale. Do more research.

When you check in to a resort the people there have no idea where you bought your timeshare, they only know you are an owner and treat you accordingly. Only the people in the sales presentations (or owner updates, as they call them, little pep talks where they try and convince you that it is worth the thousands of extra dollars they want to charge you to become an Elite member) know you bought resale, and you never have to attend one of them if you don't want to.

We bought this location retail before we knew about resale. It's a great property, we much prefer it over Sea World property.

No reason to buy retail unless you want the very few perks, which are extremely expensive considering the difference in price between retail and resale.

HGVC treats resale buyers better than every other hotel-based system. You will exactly the same benefits as a typical retail owner -- online club reservations, open season (cash) bookings, RCI exchanges, HHonors conversion rights, banking, borrowing, etc.

As the expression goes, "points are points." Your membership card may even date back to the last retail sale. But resale purchases are not counted toward "elite" status.

Elite status does have some nice perks (like a special room key). Many posters here have earned it and revel in its benefits... more power to 'em. But for the great unwashed, it simply is not worth the price of buying retail to get there.

IMHO, the last thing you should do is go to one of those "owers updates." They are merely sales presentations designed to convince you to trade in your great buy for a retail purchase, as if there's ever a good reason to do that.
