I just got a direct mail piece from HGVC direct sales out of Florida promoting special bonus points if I upgrade my ownership by the end of the month..

Anyone else get this?

I not planning to take advantage of the "generous offer" but was curious if this was broadly mailed out or just targeted owners?

What could that "upgrade" possibly be? When we went to our first owner's update, they tried to persuade us to trade in our 4800 platinum at SeaWorld for 7000 points at Paradise. But it wasn't a 2 Bedroom 7000 point package--it was two Silver Season 2 Bedroom weeks, with double the maintenance as a Platinum 7000 2BR package at the same resort.

So, that's not much of an upgrade, if that's the sort of thing they're pushing.

That having been said, we were out of the update in about 20 minutes, and still got our Vegas dining credit, which we spent at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Vegas, so I'm not complaining.

It’s always hard to know what they would be pushing.. I have spoken with the HGVC direct division a few times. In general i found it easier to work with them over the phone than to sit through a presentation on my vacation. But you won't get any free gifts, so unless you’re actually interested in buying from them I can’t recommend spending the time..

One time they presented an offer that was at least decent. Expensive like all developer offers, but at least it made some sense. Unfortunately the other time they were pushing something similar to what you were offered. They wanted me to trade my 5K LV Strip unit in for two 5K units at the Paradise location. Yes I would have more points, but more than twice the MF…

Now I don’t bother talking with them unless I have to..
