The coronavirus seems to have squelched talk of a HGVC buyout.
Investing in vacation enterprises may not be a good idea at the moment.
Diamond, Apollo, or whoever, may be more focused on staying alive.

That would be our hopes but then again it might be the perfect time for someone to buy HGVC cheaply.

I believe this is why HGV recently approved a stock buyback to buoy the stock price and avoid a fire sale takeover.

I was wondering the same thing. It hard to really know how this will shake out.

I believe this is why HGV recently approved a stock buyback to buoy the stock price and avoid a fire sale takeover.

I have not heard about HGV, but a number of other companies such as MVC have stopped the stock buybacks as a result of the current economic situation. With resorts closed, and result impact on sales, it would be hard to justify claim the best possible use of their available capital is buy their own stock.
