HGV Max (DRI side) Adding Resale HGVC and Maintenance Fees Question

Hello all, I have 10000 points on HGV Max. I was under DRI before; we bought more points and were moved to HGV max. I want to purchase resale HGVC points (Elara, Blvd, Flamingo in Nevada). Will the points I get from resale added to my 10000 points or will that be technically a different bucket from HGVC side of max?

Also, I find our MFs too high for the points we have. For 2025, our MFs will be 2900 for our (US Collection) 10000 points. Any ideas on how we can get this lowered? Sales from Elara is hinting our only option is to pay 28k, buying 7k more retail points to make our ownership in VIP status?

TIA!

Different bucket. You are still in DRI but just with the Max program added. You would have two different accounts but CS can combine those points for use in the 6 month Max reservation window. You would have access to the full HGVC benefits and booking windows with the resale points though.

VIP status isn't going to lower your MFs. They will try to sell you anything by saying anything. $2900 for 10k points is high though, 0.29...ugh. we try to stay at 0.10 or less. The DRI Trust has high MFs.

So technically buying the resale will not add to my points? But both buckets can be used for reservations under max.

Correct. You would have your DRI account with those points and a HGVC account with those points. Two different buckets. But within the Max reservation window, you can call CS and they can combine them to make reservations.

Most of us on here are not in Max but that is our understanding from what others have posted. Remember, Max only allows booking in the other system at the 6-month mark. We also (or I do anyway) that Max is an exchange program. Therefore, I don't think that all available inventory will be available in the other system.

Got it. Thanks!

This is the real benefit you would get by adding an HGVC resell deed. If you look at your reservations screen and find that the places you want to visit aren't available at 6 months, then adding an HGVC resell deed is the ticket to booking (12 months for home week/9 months for club season).

Additionally, if there are reservations you want at 6 months but you are just short on points, then it can also help you in that way.

And to add, 6 month reservations in HGVC are leftovers
