Hey, RCI actually sent me a supposed match to an ongoing search, but it was wrong.

I entered an ongoing search for all of Maui for 3/23-3/31, no matter what resort, and I added the difficult to get resorts on the Big Island and Oahu, as back-up, like the Hiltons and Disney's Aulani.

I used resort codes to be very specific and required a 2 bedroom. RCI matched me with Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort for 3/17. I purposely did not include Wyndham Kona, because I don't really like it much. I didn't even include Bay Club. So why did they send a close date match and for the resort I did not list? :crash:

Is this going to put me back on the bottom of the list ofr my March dates?

When you cancel the hold, your ongoing search should be back as it was. If it isn't, Web Support should be able to recreate it with the original request date.

I've had matches that were off a bit, but never as bad as that one!

Curious what you don't like about Wyndham Kona. We're here right now and love it!

You know the on-going search I had for Maui never saw the SOK bulk deposit you noted here a month or so back. I have no confidence in the RCI on-going search function now.

Okay, I know this is a basic question but I never use the ongoing search so I really don't know but:eek: ...................

If you have an ongoing search going and then there is a bulk or you see your unit online, what is the process of using that unit that is already tied up with the ongoing to book the unit you see online?

Do you need two separate deposits to do this or can you easily book the ongoing search without having to call? Can it be done online? I seem to have to call for anything special that I want to do cause can't get it to work online. :crash:

I'd like to set up some ongoings but since it would be for DVC I don't want to lose out cause it's stuck in an ongoing limbo.

If you want to use a deposit that's tied to an ongoing search, it'll warn you that using it will cancel the ongoing search. There should be a checkbox to check during the exchange process. You can do it online.

Good to know thanks. Not that I have any TPU's at the moment. Gotta wait a few days to gas up again at CMV. ;)

I had this problem before the last upgrade. I had put in for southwest England, and kept getting canal boats which are in the midlands. Then I put in for England without canal boats and still got canal boats. I finally called and was told it would be better with the upgrade and it has been since. Perhaps you have to call and complain before it will be fixed.
