I have a 1 bedroom on hold right now. I've never been to vegas, DH has. Ive read the reviews already.

Im looking for advice ... nice property? Walkable to the strip? How much do the day trips cost at the resort?

Whats the best place to eat good, but reasonably for dinner.

We'd be going Easter week.

Thanks!

I have stayed at this property, it is a very nice resort and yes you can walk to the Strip, its behind the MGM. Cannot help with your other questions.

Search the TUG threads about this resort - there are many posts about it, one just the other day.

Nice place, worth staying there. Walkable to the strip, but easier to take a cab or drive. Hotels on the strip have easy parking. Lots of restaurants around, but none that I recall right on the t/s grounds. We used it as a base camp for seeing things in the area, so only really slept there. Easter week will be crowded with day-trippers from California. Expect crowds. Last Memorial Day weekend it was a zoo at the resort. I'd expect Easter to be similar.

Have fun!

Grand Desert has a free shuttle that runs every 30 minutes between it and Harrahs. Goes late into the night.

We stayed there last year and had a greast time. It is a beautiful resort with lovely pools and hot tubs. It is a very doable walk to the strip, sbout 15 minutes. We would be very happy to go back in the future.

Its a good distance from the strip which I made a few times. I ended up taking the shuttle or taxis. In the evenings, it seems a lot longer because I was pretty tired.

For dinner, it always depends what interests you and your definition of resonable. There are a couple of decent places at the PH which is one of the closer hotels. There is a Brazilian Steakhouse and a seafood/sushi buffet, the latter being accessible on Harmon. Both have discount coupoons available from Tix for Tonite. There is also a restaurant called Ocean One in side the PH mall which I used restaurant.com certificates for. The discounts made the prices overall pretty reasonable.

I liked the place, but do prefer to be closer to the strip.

We just got back from the Grand Desert and had a fabulous time! We rented from another Tug Member and were reserved for a 3 bed Presidential but Wyndham upgraded us to a 4 bed Presidential! It was awesome. Our favorite place to dine on the cheap was at Ellis Island Casino & Brewery located at 4178 Koval Ln. It is just a couple of blocks away. They have a $6.99 steak special that is by request (not on the menu) that is terrific! One of the best steaks I have had at any price. They have the same steak with eggs etc for $3.99 for breakfast. It is open 24/7:)
