I am looking to plan a trip to the Shawnee Village location, can anyone provide advice on
  1. the different units/ buildings? It seems that Crestview is the newer units, but the pictures on the website are for a Presidental. We will need a 1 or 2 bedroom
  2. For winter, how far is the skiing? Is it included? We are not skiers, so we are just looking for a fun time in the snow.
  3. For summer (probably June), are there any recommended activities?
Thanks in advance for your help. The reviews on Tug and Trip Advisor are old.

Shawnee Mountain ski resort is about 5 minutes away, and CamelBack resort (which is bigger) is about 20-30 minutes away.

Having just been in the area this past weekend, there is very little snow on the ground other than at the resorts, themselves, which have snowmaking equipment. This has been a poor snowfall year across the USA.

There are some 1-bedroom units at Shawnee, but none in the Crestview section. Crestview is the newest section and has about 40 units ... best to book at 10 months for Prime times.

Crestview is newer and very nice. The pictures are the presidential, but the 2 bedrooms are also furnished and appointed nicely. There are no 1 bedrooms. We stayed in a refurbished unit in Depuy, which wasn't awful, but nowhere near as nice as Crestview. The showers were tiny there but had great water pressure. Ridge Top deluxe rooms are doable, but not luxury. Ridge Top regular rooms could use a lot of work, but I think those are where you would be most likely to get a real fireplace if that is something important to you.

There is no skiing or activity like that included (though I am not sure what attending a sales presentation will get you). Not too far away is Blue or White Lightning Tubing. There is tubing all year - in winter it is White Lightning with snow tubing. In other seasons it is Blue Lightning with tubing on a mat. If you want snow fun without skiing, that is pretty fun for the kids. They also have ziplines, horseback riding, and a ropes course. There are other places for tubing in the area as well- pretty sure Camelback is one.

Dingman's falls is a small drive away, and is free and a nice walk and falls.

Check to see if Big Blouder or Jack Frost have tubing. Camelback is the largest of the ski area ... but there are others.

It's a bit further drive from Shawnee (40 minutes) but I found Blue Mountain resort to have better ski runs .. highest vertical drop in PA and lots of acreage.
