Our usual routine is to bookend our Hawaii trip with a couple of nights in Seattle, but looks like we're going to shake things up a little for next year.
I was able to book our return Kahului to Seattle on Alaska miles, but unfortunately, it requires an overnight stay in San Jose.
I usually use Priceline or Hotwire when booking an airport hotel at Seattle, but I'm lost this time. Totally not familiar with San Jose area at all.

I would appreciate any recommendations or tips for a cheap hotel around SJC.
We are comfortable with anything 2.5 stars and up.
TIA!

Yep, Doubletree is probably the closest and one of the more upscale hotels. There's also a Clarion, Fairfield, Holiday Inn Express, and bunches of smaller motels nearby.

Thank you for the suggestions. :) We love the Doubletree cookies at check in so I'll definitely look into that. Hopefully the price will be reasonable.

We have tried the Clarion in the past for their complimentary full breakfast but have switched to the Radisson and their Sleep Number beds.

Homewood Suites okay?

We've been so spoiled by our timeshare stays that if we can avoid it, I would prefer not to stay in a standard hotel room. While tinkering around the net, I found a pretty decent price for the Homewood Suites on West Trimble Road. Hotel website description says that it is only 1 mile from SJC, free breakfast and free shuttle to airport as well. Looks like this may be the one. :cheer:

I think we stayed there once, it does the job for a place to stay.
