My daughter is trying to fill out a job app in Adobe sent via recruiter. How do I save it so she can type on it and email it back? I have tried everything and I know it is doable.l Driving myself (and her) nuts. thanks in advance!

It depends on how it was formatted in the first place. If it was created with form fields, she should be able to fill it and save it, but if it was not created with form fields, you can do so with Acrobat Reader. You might have to print it and fill it out the old-fashioned way.

It's a little unclear as to what the issue is.

Does the pdf file have fillable fields or not? If it does, you may not be able to save the things you enter in the fields, but you can save the (blank) form itself. You might have to fill in the forms on the computer and print it, then you can fax it to the recruiter.

It all depends on how they created the pdf file.

If it doesn't have fillable fields, then you won't be able to enter anything on the form itself.

thanks- it does have fillable fields and is supposed to be able to be utilized that way. But, the little hand does change to a cursor yet it will NOT let you type in anything- been fussing with it for two hours. Nor is there a way to highlight the fields--She is hand filling it in now.

I guess the other thing to try is to make sure you are using the most current version of acrobat reader. They are up to 9.something now, but 8.x with the latest updates should be fine also.

Please make sure you keep your adobe acrobat reader up to date. That XP Antivirus maleware thing tries to exploit a hole in acrobat reader (I've seen it try that on my system, it opened a file named pdf.pdf through the browser, without my intervention, but it wasn't able to infect my system), that's presumably been patched if you have the latest 8.x or 9.x updates.
