I posted this last night for the newsletter, but it applies to ANY messages from TUG.

marketplace notifications, password reminders, renewal emails, etc etc any email from tug2.net, tug2.com or tugbbs.com

so, need help from the TUG Army!

lately we've noticed that the TUG newsletter is going into the promotions folder despite it being 100% subscribe/opt in! every week I get an email from someone who is asking what happened to the newsletter as they havent gotten it in awahile...only to discover its not in their inbox anymore!

this can happen for a variety of reasons, but two very easy ways to get it out of this purgatory (as well as other similar online email folders) and help TUG emails go where they belong (ie not spam/promotions) are:

1. for you to drag the email OUT of the promotions folder, and into your primary inbox! this is super easy and you can use this quick trick to find any that might be there:

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#search/category:promotions+From:tug2.net
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#search/category:promotions+From:tug2.com
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#search/category:promotions+From:tugbbs.com

then click the 3 little bars at the very top, go down to label as > and UNCHECK the promotions folder

this should put the newsletter into your inbox and likely put all future ones in your inbox as well.

2: add tugadmin@tug2.net tug@tug2.net, admin@tugbbs.com, to your list of contacts!

this can be done two ways, the first is to open any email from TUG, and hover your mouse over the TUG name int he top left hand corner where it says FROM:

hovering over this will bring up this little box on top showing the contact information, if you see a little pen there...its already added to your contacts. if you see a little head with a plus sign, simply click that to add this to your contacts and it will prioritize that email moving forward!
