Help - Nusa Dua Terrace OR Nusa Dua Gardens?

Looking into the Bali resorts. Which is your favorite? Nusa Dua Terrace or Nusa Dua Gardens? It will be a 20th anniversary trip.

Looking into the Bali resorts. Which is your favorite? Nusa Dua Terrace or Nusa Dua Gardens? It will be a 20th anniversary trip.

We stayed at Nusa Dua Terrace, but also spent time at Nusa Dua Gardens.
For us, Terrace had some big advantages - more modern and spacious in a scenic hill top setting, with each unit having its own private plunge pool. There was also a choice of good value restaurants and a free shuttle to the shopping mall and its own beach club.
Gardens was also good though and more convenient for walking to places - shops, restaurants, beach…etc
We enjoyed both but preferred the Terrace resort

Nusa Dua Garden shares the location and amenities with Marriott Courtyard. Nusa Dua Terrace shares location and amenities with the Renaissance. That says it all.

I actually liked both properties, but my wife will only go back to terrace. Neither really have much within walking distance. Just take the free shuttle to the common beach club or the Bali Collection mall. If you want a walk, take the boardwalk from the mall along the ocean by the Westin. Grab taxi app is fine for getting around. We did 2 tours via the Renaissance: one south to Ulawatu, fire dance, beach, and GWK culture park that I would not recommend. The other was north to Tanah Lot temple, Taman Ayun temple, rice fields, and our favorite - the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan temple and gardens on Lake Beratan. I recommend the north tour. We also stayed in Kuta at the Sheraton Bali Kuta beside the huge Beachwalk shopping center, and near Ubud at the Sthala Tribute hotel. Pepito market is about 10 minutes by taxi and had a decent selection.

Don't forget that Singapore is a 2-1/2 hour flight away, and very easy to add as an open jaw flight on a trip!

Agree wtih Bazzap and ekuck that the Nusa Dua Terraces are a bit nicer than the Gardens. Although the plunge pools are a bit chilly!

We've stayed at the Terraces twice and on the second trip actually ended up going to the ND Gardens one day (using the free shuttles that go around the Nusa Dua resorts and shopping centers) in search of a working ATM machine. The ND Garden is closer to local restaurants, massages, shopping compared to the Terraces. But the free shuttles can get you around the resorts and tourist shopping (Bali Collection) or it's easy and cheap to use the Bluebird app.

On our first trip, we moved around to different areas of Bali since it was our first trip. Our flight arrived late in the evening so we opted to stay at the Marriott Fairmont Kuta near the airport for one night and it's a good property. Then went up to Ubud and also stayed at the Sthala for several nights. We went around Ubud and did the touristy things like the temples, rice fields, museums and tried the Luwak (poop) coffee which we couldn't tell if it was good or not since we're not coffee snobs! We also drove up north also to Pura Ulun Danu Beratan temple and many other places. We skipped the Monkey Forrest though, since I'm not a major fan of wild monkeys. We also went to the Junglegold chocolate factory, Tanah Lot, and other places.

Afterwards, we headed back south to Nusa Dua and did some nights at the St. Regis and The Laguna before doing our stay at the Nusa Dua Terraces. If you get a chance to stay at the St. Regis, it is a great property and they've upgraded us (husband is a Lifetime Titanium which actually means something in the Marriott SE Asia hotels!) to their private one bedroom Lagoon Villa. The Laguna is also a very nice resort, also wonderful staff. The Laguna also upgraded us to their private pool bungalow. So would recommend the St. Regis or The Laguna if you have Marriott status or even if you don't! Then we did our stay at the Marriott Nusa Dua Terraces which was also a nice stay!

We hired a private driver to get us around on our own schedule. Wayan Merta was our Bali driver and we would recommend him as he drives safely, is very friendly and helpful, speaks English well and even a bit of Japanese! We gave him our schedule dates/hotels and our "wish list" of places we wanted to see; we asked him to figure out the best days/times to get around efficiently. Wayan also asked us where we wanted to eat and we asked him to take us to local places that he liked, so we had a lot of great local food! We also like to buy a lot of the local fruits (so much cheaper and tastier in SE Asia) and he would stop at the roadside stands and negotiate to get the locals discount. He's on WhatsApp and his contact is 62-812-3609-749. I can't recall what we paid, but his pricing was competitive and he was also recommended on flyertalk. We're hiring him again when we go back to Bali!

Bali is a big island, so we'll try to go to different areas on each visit so that we don't spend too much time traveling around. Have a great trip!
