Has this been changed to 120 days or is it still 59 days?

Ownership week and my arrival date is after June 1, 2020:

My Scheduled Arrival Is 59 Days to 14 Days from My Date of Cancellation
  • While cancellations are not permitted, your week can be deposited with Interval International for a Late Deposit. You will have two years from the check-out date of your deposited week to travel and can check availability up to 59 days before your desired arrival date.

What I see currently is on or before July 1 2020...

You will receive an Interval International week that will be deposited into your Interval International account within the next 10 days for future use. The Interval International week will have a reduced exchange rate of $99 and will expire on December 16, 2021. You will be able to check availability up to 120 days prior to your desired arrival date.

Are you confusing the 120 day holding account for points reservation cancellations with the II 59 day window?

For points if you cancel under 60 days out you currently get holding account points good until end of Dec next year that can be booked up to 120 days out. That gives you an extra 2 months in advance over the normal holding account rules and also potentially extends the points a year depending on when the points would have expired otherwise.

For weeks if you cancel under 60 days out you lose the week or you could deposit subject to either II's normal late deposit rules of the special arrangement rules that Steve posted.

Either way the 60 day usual cancelation rule is still in place.

It's an ownership week - not points.

It's after July 1. (Sorry, I posted June above)

I copied this from the Marriott website:

The current Covid rules are for 1 July or before.

Currently for after 1 July the rule you quoted would currently apply. If they wait they might get the new temp options but if not and it's under 14 days, they won't have any options to deposit with II. Personally I'd call MVC and ask if they can get the temporary option as it's likely better for most comparing the 2. If they can use the week or rent it, that's even better.
