Classic bait and switch… I got a theme park loft for 5yrs for $5k. But the whole time we were negotiating about what looks like “freedom weeks” from Club Freedom and SFX “worldwide weeks” and then at the very end he throws in the theme park loft as a “freebie”. They said worldwide weeks would last forever but if my theme park room goes away in 5 years it seems like they lied or miscommunicated.

I just signed yesterday but leave today. Should I go raise hell at the Grand Bliss and demand recision? Should I not bother and just call my credit card company? What’s my best move while still on the property? Thanks.

Take a cancellation letter to the sales center and get a copy or take a picture of them receiving it if you want. You could also have the concierge forward your cancellation letter and cancellation email to sales. Be sure to have all people that signed the contract named in the letter and all people that signed the contract sign the letter. Keep it simple. Email gives you a timestamp.

I’m currently being helped by a gringo in the Santuario underground bunker. He says he’s in the process of cancelling. It was not easy to find Contract services in Grand Bliss… it’s a random doorway off the big video display hallway. They then took me to Santuario building, which I protested, but it seems like it’s happening. I will write and photo a letter, but I doubt I can get all those people found and signing it in time.

In addition to your current efforts, you can also send a USPS Registered Mail International when you get back home. Only use Registered Mail.

the important thing is to retain proof of your intention to cancel within the alotted time frame and your efforts to do so!

do not for one minute believe anyone that tells you verbally, make sure you retain some proof! specific names/departments/etc get some email addresses and send your intent to cancel to every one of them (email will have a timestamp etc).

does the signed contract have a section for how you should cancel?

Hopefully you get this taken care of before you leave. The Customer/Member Services office is on the 2nd floor of the Grand Bliss - not on the sales floor.

If you are not satisfied that it has been cancelled, then I would do what Easyrider and Dioxide45 both suggest,

Welcome to TUG !

@easyrider just meant that if you and your wife both signed the contract, you both need to sign the rescission letter. You don't need find any of the Vidanta people who sold you the contract.

I would definitely send a short / quick letter stating that you are exercising your right to rescind contract # xxxxxxx. Get it in the mail tomorrow with proof of mailing / delivery.

Thanks, it was just me signing. The guy who gave the me the chargeback receipts came back without any of the documentation which I had handed to him before he left the room. Unfortunately I didn’t anticipate that or I would have taken pictures of the contract. So my letter will need to just have my name, the amount I paid, the date, who I dealt with, and that it was a Theme Park studio room. I realized hours later that I had nothing to reference in my letter now. At the time he gave me the chargeback receipts I was just so relieved I wasn’t thinking super clearly. Annoyed with myself but if they are scamming me I can’t imagine my credit card company wouldn’t side with me here since I have chargeback receipts with QR codes and my credit card numbers on them showing the proper amounts. But yes I will send letter tomorrow, if anyone knows the PV Vidanta address I should use I would be very grateful. Here is a pic of the Chargeback receipt

You are most likely OK with that receipt. Check your credit card online to see that the refund is in process. If so, you would not need to send a letter. They would not give you your copy of the contract back if they refunded your money.

Thanks. We have been checking our credit card, but today hopefully it shows up since most of this was happening over a weekend.
