Leaving for NYC in the morning. First time staying at the MC and would like to know:
1. Does MC provide shampoo and conditioner for quests? If so, how many sets will it provide for a 1BR unit with two baths?
2. What kind of appliances are in the limited kitchen?
3. Is there a store nearby to get our supplies for the stay?
4. We will arrive late at night after 8pm. Any good restaurant especially Chinese nearby? Coming with my MIL and SIL. Both prefer oriental food.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks!

You will get an adequate supply of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap in each bathroom each day, (replenished daily).

Appliances are very limited in kitchen: microwave, small coffee pot, (w/ 2 packets of coffee replenished daily; also tea and popcorn), small fridge and dishwasher. NO toaster.

Small grocery store/fresh deli about 2 blocks north of MC (Can't think of the name---go out of MC, turn left, end of block turn right); plus a "Whole Foods" store downstairs in the building (Time/Warner?) at Columbus Circle.

Can't help you w/ the chinese restaurant.....I'm sure another TUGger will give advice on that question.

Thanks! Checked in a few minutes ago. 19th floor. The hall way is a mess (being renovated) but the unit is OK with new flat panel TVs. We are heading to the Thai restaurant now on 56th just a block away...

I've usually had good luck with the Ollie's north of Lincoln Center (about 67th and Bway?), but it is very, very up-and-down. For really good Chinese food, you probably have to go to Chinatown. And if you're from SF, you'll want to get the good stuff!

If you like Korean food, West 32nd St. is Little Korea. There are quite a few good places there.

Hi WM, Thanks for the tips! My friend also told me about Little Korea. Will check it out if we have time. Will meet with my friends in Chinatown tomorrow. Yum!

The Thai restaurant on W 56th was pretty good, price is OK but the size of dishes they serve is much smaller compared to the ones in Bay area. I guess someone has to pay the rent :)
