My husband & I recently went to Cancun, Mexico & were smooth talked into buying a Vacation Club package(RCI) at the Krystal. We have mixed emotions about what we did--mostly, we hope we didn't make a huge mistake. Of course it sounded great at the time, but now we are concerned that we've paid too much. I've read the Timeshare 101, but still feel very green. We can't find, on our contract, where it says how much time we have, if we want to cancel. Is anyone familiar with the Krystal International Vacation Club? I'd like to tell the price in this message but don't know if it's permissible. Any thoughts or advice are welcomed.

Mexico law allows five days to rescind. Thus, unless the developer has a 7-day policy, you likely had only five days.

If you are still within that period, almost everyone here would likely recommend that you rescind, study TUG for a while and then decide about jumping into the world of timeshare ownership based on knowledge.

When in doubt - Rescind!

Please read your contract documents as soon a possible and rescind if it's not too late - follow the instructions for rescission to the letter. Although I am not familiar with the resort, or Mexico purchases, time is almost always of the essence.

Good luck and I hope it's not too late.

Charles
