Hello,
We are in panic thinking we made a mistake and got caught up in the sales pitch for Holiday inn vacation club at Orange Lake. Is there a way to back out? We've only made a payment on a credit card.
We'd appreciate any advice
Thanks:cautious:

When was it? Read through your paperwork and if you are still within your recession period follow the directions and rescind ASAP! You can always buy something later after some research!

Rescind. Both you and your SO need to sign and put your names on the rescission letter, which should also have your TS contract number. Mind sharing how much rescission would save you?

It was 2/9. I read some threads that was referencing 5 days, so we're over that now. I can't find any recession period in this paperwork.

Spelling error, oops.
We've only made a $300 credit card payment so far. I can't find mention of rescission in paperwork

It actually depends in which State the actual purchase occurred. Each State has differing times for rescission paperwork.

If you bought in Florida, you have 10 days. You need to re-read the contract carefully. The rescission information is there.

If you can as mentioned. Rescind
Then research here and if timeshare is a fit. Buy resale and learn how to get some awesome vacations

Timeshares are not a horrible thing. It’s how they are bought and used ( or not used ) that is the issue

I may not say recission. It may state to make changes to or cancel the contract. You must follow the instructions with regard to sending the letter. State the contract number and your intent to exercise your rescission rights. You are cancelling the contract. Have all who’s names on the contract sign the letter. Have it sent USPS certified mail with return receipt. That’s essential.

In Florida. you have 10 days to cancel. So you MUST ge the rescission letter postmarked by next Wednesday, but why cut it close? Write the letter today/tomorrow and mail it (USPS Certified w/return receipt) on Monday. It doesn't need to be fancy or legalese, just I/We wish to cancel the purchase of the timeshare, account #________________ on 2/9/20. Please return our down payment of $300 to the credit card on which it was paid ASAP. No further payments will be authorized.

@Dogmom we hope your rescission and deposit refund went well. To track TUG rescission savings, mind sharing how much you'd save with rescission? As half of tuggers initially bought developer or retail timeshares, there is no shaming.
