Orlando...

We are looking to do our first exchange for Feb 2017 but unfortunately nothing is available at our first three choices of resorts. RCI suggested that I do the ongoing search, pay the fee up front and hopefully it will come available.

Am I stretching too far but hoping something will come available at Tuscany?

Second choice; Parc Soleil
Third choice: Hilton at SeaWorld

I don't want to wait until the last second...

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

You should do an Ongoing Search - OGS's are filled FIRST, before anything goes online.

When you only search online, you only see the leftovers.

oh okay. I am not familiar with this resort. I was told that they go fast!

I just don't want to wait around for 6 months and nothing happens...

There is no way to know if anything will be deposited or not. Exchanging is a gamble.

oh :(

Even though our 2015 and 2016 weeks have already been deposited...I did look on the exchange ads. That seems like a great concept.

I think if you put the request in now for those 3 resorts, it will be highly likely that an exchange will come through. You may have missed the bulk deposits, but people will cancel and those reservations will go to whoever has ongoing searches.

HGVC is among the highest demand in RCI. When they are available online, they go quickly. If you are sure you want a Hilton, the ongoing search is the way to go.

Awesome!

Thanks for the info!

Is it possible to add DVC Animal Kingdom to an ongoing search?

I cant find that resort on RCI, but I see threads showing people have traded on RCI for that resort????

Yes, you can add it. Look in the Resort directory. There may be several codes for Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have 2 different areas. Do not enter codes that start with "R" as those are rentals. DVC deposits about 6 months ahead of time. Hilton can a year ahead of time.

When you enter resort codes, do not also enter areas. If you enter the Orlando area, you will get offered a lot of other properties. Ignore the area part and only enter the resort codes. Or, do it over the phone and have the rep do that for you.

Thank you!!!

I finally found them!!!!! I am so excited! looking at options now.

I also put a free exchange ad for our 2017 week...

One more thing...

As none of these are available...I can't tell what they are trading at. Any ideas of the RCI point ranges?

Okay, I just spent the last hour and a half reading through various threads on DVC trades...

What I have gotten from it. Correct me if I am wrong...

1.) Jan-Feb usually are in the 40 point range

2.) Seems as though ONLY 1 br units are being deposited for SS resort?

3.) Deposit are usually made about six months before check in?

If was really hoping to get a 2 br at Animal kingdom, but that is looking like a stretch :(
