We are going to Hilton Head in November. 4 adults. Which would you choose?

I would choose Harbour Club because it is in SeaPines, which has wonderful bike trails, close to the beach..by bike or car, is in the heart of Harbour Town with shops, restaurants, marina, etc just a few feet away and most of all because we own there and just love it. It is also close to South Beach with all their shops, restaurants, etc and Coligny Circle with the same amenities...shops, restaurants, beach, etc. Even if it's not swimming weather, it is certainly beach weather..:)

I would differ in my response.

Without question, I'd select Barony. It is in Port Royal Plantation and there are plenty of walking/biking paths. The resort is on the ocean. There is a full service spa and fitness center.

You can always drive to Sea Pines. Harbor Club is recently redone, but it doesn't have the full set of amenities and you have to go to Monarch for some of them (if you care). Of course it is not on the ocean.

I have stayed at both. HC is in Harbortown marina area and Sea Pines has trhe best bike trails on the island IMHO.

I do love Barony and all the amenities. Indoor heated pool, wonderful spa and gym and multi outdoor pools and the beach is lovely. So I would chose Barony.

HHI is only 12 miles long by 5 miles wide. Barony is the North End of the island in Port Royal Plantation and Harbortown is in the south end of the island in Sea Pines Plantation.

HHI is shaped like a sneaker with the toe being Harbortown Marina area and the heel is where Barony is.

http://www.hhidirect.com/maps.html Maps of area on the island and bike trail maps

http://www.hhidirect.com/mapsmain.html HT is across the street from the lighthouse/ Port Royal is in green.

Mapped it and it's 9 miles door to door. HT 144 Lighhouse Rd HHI,SC and Barony 5 Grasslawn Dr HHI,SC

Both are very nice and the accommodation are equal. First visit on the Island I would lean toward Harbour Club and Sea Pine Island. The marina and Harbour Town, the famous red & white lighthouse, plus the PGA golf course are what made Hilton Head Island in my opinion.

Good luck and enjoy your week on the Island.

I like being on the ocean. I like pools with bars. So I choose Barony. I am not a big biker.
