What do you know about "The Timeshare Network"

I too have been contacted by "The Timeshare Network" wanting me to allow them to market my weeks at Mayan Palace, Accapulco. The $550 upfront fee of course gives me pause. Like Jozef, I would love to hear any info anybody has on this marketing company. If it is another "scam" non-performing company, they are really convincing on the phone. But I do have to say, their web site at www.timesharenetworking.net really sucks! Errors on many pages and lots of pages with no data. When I looked them up on the Secretary of State's website in Missouri, the company is actually registered as a "ficticous" name, which I interpret to be a "doing business as" name. They have only be around since late 2007. I see that they became a member of the BBB of Missouri in May of this year and so far only have 1 complaint against them (for being hard to contact by an existing customer). I've asked Grupo Mayan customerservice (via e-mail) if they have had any positive dealings with this company in 2008. Still have not heard back from them. Hopefully this bbs will be more responsive.

Welcome to TUG! :hi:

On TUG we do not recommend paying a large up-front fee to rent or sell your timeshare - once they have your money, what's their motivation to actually sell your resort?

For lots of info. about how to sell your resort, see the article posted at the top of the Buying, Selling, Renting Board - How to Sell Your Timeshare.

Good Luck!

Do you pay a realtor upfront to sell your house? Why would you for a timeshare?

People who visit tug with their first post about a company that will sell their timeshare for an upfront fee fall 99.999% of the time into one of 2 categories:

1) They are a shill for an upfront company wasting their time trying to convince an educated market or just trying to get their company's name on google.

2) They are a potential victim/mark/sucker of the upfront fee company.

Pick which one of the 2 choices that best describes you because I assure you, that you will not fall into the .001% that is remaining.
