OK, we've talked about heated towel racks and tankless hot water heaters - how about heated pottie seats? I've googled them; they're in the $85-$200+ price range. That's pretty high, and we don't have a nearby electrical outlet anyway, but I sure would appreciate less of a chill!

Does anyone have one? Short of the electric variety, are there materials that are less chilly to sit on?

I've always dreamed of a suede toilet seat. Probably not too practical but wouldn't that be nice?

I figure I'm so hot that one of those heated seats would just cool things down.

A few years back the Righa Royal in NYC was a Marriott hotel and it had heated padded toilet seats with a 'washing' unit to clean you off. Quite hilarious at the time. Don't know if the new owners of the hotel kept the heated seats:

Several years ago when we were building our house I was told that, for resale, I must put in a bidet as well as a toilet. Then, while researching on www.gardenweb.com house building, etc. website, I realized that Toto (all my toilets are Toto) makes an "all in one toilet" that functions as a bidet if you choose. Anyway, it comes with a seat that automatically warms! I really like it. We sleep cold (temp down) and its really great. Would I guy a seat warmer? Never thought about it. Probably wouldn't have but since its part of it....... it really is great. DH is jealous! Linda

Japan has heated toilet seats. In the summer it's terrible, but in the winter it wouldn't be bad. Of course, their toilets do everything. They are bidets that also play music or running water sounds so as not to embarrass anyone. They even have bidets that has sinks on the back (where the tank is) so you can wash your hands as soon as your done.

Yeah, our office just installed one in a cold bathroom. We also put up a sign to say that it was heated - - so nobody would think that it was warm from the previous user;)

Ummmmm I don't think I want to use it after HE sat on it. ;) :D By the time I do want to go back in there after him it will be dead cold again.

The other problem is timing.......We aren't that synchronized!

Oh, wow, I didn't know you can buy heated toilet seats for your house -- DH would LOVE it. Even at home he always line the toilet seats with TP before using it because he doesn't like the "chill."
