We own at WKROV but haven't been there in over a decade. We are heading there on Wednesday, the weather doesn't look good (hope that changes) because of the storm. We booked an OV studio. What building do I want to be in? Is North better than South? What should I try and get--of course they always say they can't promise but is there a preference for a particular floor or building that I should request?

Also attending an Owners Update on Thursday morning. The current offer is 40,000 Bonvoy points or $200. I have zero interest in adding on to the ownership and if/when I did it would only be to qualify a resale. Only really going to have my son and daughter get the beginnings of understanding of vacation ownership. At 90 minutes I am leaving. It's really just that simple. Is the current offer the best there is, or can I get them to improve it.

If anyone out there has answers to the above, please respond to the post.

Thanks!!

If you reserved with Staroptions, you won't have a choice between the North and South properties. You will be wherever you reserved. If you do have a choice, I like the North studios better because they have a balcony and you don't share the entrance foyer area with whoever is in the 1BR side.

For South, Iwould request high floor closest to the ocean. I like building 3 best, but it is not a huge deal. I would prefer to overlook the park next to building 3 than to look over to WKORV-N in Buidling 2. The inside views towards the pool should be similar between Buidling 2 and 3.

They won't learn anything about the program at an owner update. You need to teach them this. Go for the free stuff or don't go at all. You might be able to get them to increase the offer by cancelling and see what they do. Or simply ask for more. Worst case is they say that is the highest they will go. What you are offered and what someone else may be have been offered are not connected. There are a lot of factors that determine gifting for attending an update.

If you reserved with Staroptions

Are there any reservation methods that permit changing resorts? Interval specifies which resort, and StarOptions specifies which resort, and even Marriott Cash/Bonvoy point stays specifies the resort. And now that Marriott has imposed a prohibition on moving from one villa type to another, even in situations where the unit is unfit for occupancy (I speak from personal experience), I doubt there is any chance of a change of resort upon check-in.

At one time the reservations made on Marriott.com didn't specify North or South. I haven't made any in a long time, so maybe there is a distinction now.
