Headed to Kauai --> December 19 - 26 Makai Club Resort December 27- January 3 Haneli Bay Resort.

We got a one bedroom for both. Anyone have experiences with these places? I know some Kauai resorts had flooding.

Any good advice about auto renting? Airfare deals? We are a family of 4 so I know this is going to be an expensive trip.

Both units have kitchens so probably more Costco food. Thank you. Aloah. :)

Those resorts are up north. There has been flooding up there but you will be fine. I have been by those resorts but haven’t stayed at them.
For your car use Costco and then enter it with Autoslash. Either that or keep going in and cancel and rebook when the price drops
Where are you flying from?

We stayed at the Makai Club years ago. As I recall the units were roomy but we had a two bedroom. There is the Makai Club and the Makai Club Cottages. You must be in the Makai Club, which are all one bedroom units and the buildings are three stories. The Makai Club Cottages, which must have been where we stayed are all two bedroom and the building is one story. So, I really can't tell you what the Makai Club with the one bedrooms are like.

I would think you should be able to find some good prices from there. Alaska has a great deal on companion fares if you want to get one of their credit cards.

This is the view from Hanalei Bay resort. It is one of our favorites on Kauai. It has a really nice pool and hot tub. Lots of tennis courts. It shares the beach with the Princeville resort. You can walk down or they have a shuttle. They have a lounge on site that serves a light menu. I have 2 weeks booked starting on Jan1 next year...can't wait

Surprised about the information that all units have stairs. The way I remember the unit we stayed in was that is was flat on the ground. No stairs. It was a two bedroom.

Thank you very much. This was very helpful information. I was lying in bed last night thinking I need to find someone that works at these resorts to ask what units are the best.
